Today’s Lopar has developed from the antic times whereby on this part of the island of Rab was an ancient Greek fortress located. From the greatest stories, one particular stands out – the one about St. Marinus, the founder of the San Marino republic which was at his time an inhabitant of Lopar.
Except for rich cultural and historic heritage, Lopar is also famous for its natural beauties, sandy beaches and crystal clear sea.
